TERMS OF SERVICE
Last Updated: September 27, 2026
Welcome to our pet loss grief support services. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before booking individual coaching sessions or participating in our group support sessions. By scheduling a session, purchasing a service, or entering a group space, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.SERVICES PROVIDED & SCOPE OF PRACTICE
Our services include one-on-one pet loss grief coaching and facilitated group support sessions. These services are designed strictly for emotional support, validation, education, and coping strategies related to companion animal loss and anticipatory grief.
2.NOT THERAPY OR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT (DISCLOSURE)
You explicitly acknowledge and agree that:
- Coaching and Group Support are Not Therapy: The services, materials, and group sessions provided are for peer-to-peer emotional support and coaching only. They do not constitute psychotherapy, clinical counseling, mental health treatment, or psychiatric care.
- No Client-Therapist Relationship: Participation in these services does not create a clinical, therapeutic, or medical relationship.
- Crisis Support Exclusion: We do not provide crisis intervention or emergency mental health services. If you are experiencing profound emotional distress, severe depression, or thoughts of self-harm, you agree to immediately contact a licensed mental health professional, go to the nearest emergency room, or call/text your local crisis line (such as 988 in the United States).
3.FEES, BILLING, AND PAYMENTS
- Payment: All fees for individual sessions, packages, or group series must be paid in full at the time of booking or according to the specified payment schedule prior to the start of the session.
- Non-Refundability: Except as explicitly stated in our cancellation policy, all payments for completed sessions, digital materials, or missed appointments are non-refundable.
4.24-HOUR CANCELLATION, LATE ARRIVAL, AND RESCHEDULING POLICIES
- Individual Sessions: If you need to cancel or reschedule a one-on-one session, you must provide at least 24 hours' notice before your scheduled start time. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments ("no-shows"), will be charged the full session fee.
- Group Sessions: Because group sizes are intentionally limited to maintain an intimate environment, you must cancel your registration at least 24 hours before the group session begins to receive a refund or credit. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are non-refundable. For multi-week group series or workshops, fees become entirely non-refundable once the series begins.
- Late Arrival: If you arrive late to an individual session, the meeting will conclude at the regularly scheduled time out of respect for subsequent clients, and you remain responsible for the full fee. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may be treated as a no-show.
5.GROUP SESSION CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS
To maintain a safe, welcoming, and comforting environment for all participants, everyone joining a group session must adhere to the following rules:
- Absolute Confidentiality: Thoughts, feelings, stories, and personal details shared within the group must stay within the group. You agree not to disclose names, identities, or details of fellow participants outside of the session.
- Respect for Unique Journeys: Every individual’s grief is unique. We enter into the feelings of others without trying to fix, finish, or change them. There is no timeline for healing, and all types of companion animal losses are valid.
- No Unsolicited Advice: Avoid "advice-giving" unless explicitly requested by a group member. Focus instead on active listening and sharing what helped you if you experienced a similar situation.
- Shared Time: Allow each participant equal time and space to express themselves so that a few individuals do not dominate the conversation.
- Right to Silence: Your right to quiet contemplation is fully respected. If you prefer to listen without speaking, you are welcome to do so.
- Removal from Group: We reserve the right to remove any participant from a group session or revoke their access to future sessions if their behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or violates these community standards.
6.ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS & ONLINE PRIVACY
By using our online booking platforms, joining virtual sessions, or sending emails, you consent to receive electronic communications from us. While we utilize secure, privacy-conscious platforms to host our individual and group virtual sessions, you acknowledge that transmission of data over the internet carries inherent security risks.
7.LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the practice and its facilitators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your participation in coaching sessions, group support, or your reliance on any resources provided. You assume full responsibility for your personal well-being during and after all sessions.
8.GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the business is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will become effective immediately upon posting to our website or distribution to active clients. Your continued booking or participation in sessions constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
